October is ROTARY VOCATIONAL SERVICE MONTH. Each Rotary Club is to emphasize the involvement of clubs in the everyday practice of the IDEALS OF VOCATIONAL SERVICE. Vocational Service is the way Rotary fosters and supports the application of the ideal of service in the pursuit of all vocations.
HOW CAN YOU BE INVOLVED IN SERVICE? Two projects our club has this month are the WEATHERIZATION PROJECT on Saturday, Oct. 21, and helping at the HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL at the State School. Please volunteer for one or both of these projects.
Our ongoing SERVICE PROJECT is reading to students at Jane Long Elementary (which is temporarily located at the Valley View Elementary campus). If you are interested in participating in this program, call David Stubbeman at 698-1756 and plan to come to Jane Long this Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. and observe what we do. REMEMBER, someone helped you to learn to read.
A draft of the new MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY will be presented to the Board of Directors on Oct. 13, so PLEASE make any corrections and RETURN the Questionnaire we sent you.
Our ROTARY GOLF TOURNAMENT is set for Monday, Oct. 30, at Fairway Oaks.. Please sign up and mark your calendar to join other club members for a fun time.
The following Rotarians are asked to stand with PRESIDENT MIKE at the door of our meetings in October and be GREETERS: Peter AGNELL, Bob DEEGAN, Woody GILLILAND, Elizabeth PAIGE, and Patty KNIGHT.
