Our program today was Betty Hukill and some very talented singers from the production "SWING" which is showing at the Paramount this weekend. Joe Alcorta’s outstanding summary of each of our meetings appears on our club website. Thanks, Joe.

Someone left a pair of glasses in a black and white plastic case at Rotary today, June 23. Please call David Stubbeman, 698-1756, to get them back.

Program for June 30: CHANGEOVER from President Peter Fox to President Mike Weber. Be sure and come hear a summary of this past year and Mike’s plans for the coming year. The old board of directors and the incoming board of directors will have a joint meeting with Assistant District Governor Ed Brokaw on Thursday evening, June 29, at 6:30 p.m., at Cypress Street Station.

Dues statements will be going out next week. Our dues for the next six months are $120.00. You will also be asked to make a voluntary contribution to The Rotary Foundation of $100.00 per year.

The main objective of Rotary is service—in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotary volunteers build goodwill and peace, provide humanitarian service, and encourage high ethical standards in all vocations. The Rotary motto is "Service Above Self."

The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to support the efforts of Rotary International in the fulfillment of the Object of Rotary, Rotary’s mission, and the achievement of world understanding and peace through local, national, and international humanitarian, educational, and cultural programs. The Rotary Foundation is making a final push for a polio-free world, and its humanitarian grants program is extending Rotary’s reach to more people in need. The educational programs are the cornerstone for strengthening world understanding.

Today, Bob Test drew the Ace of Spades in Dealing for Dollars and won $558.00. Congratulations to Bob.

Rotary members are professional men and women who work as volunteers to improve the quality of life in their home and world community. Club membership represents a cross-section of local business and professional leaders. The world’s Rotary clubs meet weekly and are non-political, non-religious and open to all cultures, races, and creeds.

Next year we hope to increase the public awareness of Rotary in Abilene and around the world. Let us know if you have any ideas about how to accomplish this.
