REMEMBER TO SIGN UP (or call David Stubbeman). In lieu of our regular noon meeing on June 29, we will have a CLUB PICNIC at FRONTIER TEXAS, from 6-9 p.m. This is for your entire family and guests. The cost is $9.00 per person and this includes a meal from SHARON ALLEN'S BARBEQUE and a ticket to the Frontier Texas Exhibit. Children under 12 are free. After supper, there will be a "changing of the guard," from Mike Weber to Bob Test, and the naming of the ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR.

This Tuesday, June 19, at 6:30 p.m., we will have a joint meeting of the outgoing BOARD OF DIRECTORS and the incoming BOARD OF DIRECTORS at El Chico Mexican Restaurant in the Mall of Abilene. The Assistant District Governor, Isaac Castro from Hamlin, will also attend. Directors, please put this date on your calendars. PETER FOX, immediate past president, ERIK JOHNSON, and BRUCE LAMPERT will be retiring from the board and KENT BROWN, STEVE GLENN, and WOODY GILLILAND will be coming onto the board.

Another date to put on your calendar is Saturday, June 30 (social at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m.) at the Abilene Woman's Club when Dave Mason from Abilene Southwest Rotary will be installed as our new DISTRICT GOVERNOR. Call Will Speight, 692-7988, or David Stubbeman, 698-1756, if you want make a reservation to attend.

This was a record year for donations to THE ROTARY FOUNDATION from all Rotarians and a record year for donations from our club. THANKS FOR CONTRIBUTING TO WORLD PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING through your donations to The Rotary Foundation.

Rotary International provides third party LIABILITY INSURANCE for all Rotarians when we are participating in projects such as Taste of Abilene, and even for our golf tournament. The cost of this insurance this year (beginning July 1) will be $3.08 for each Rotarian living in Texas. It costs $3.45 for Rotarians living in California and Colorado, and $2.71 for Rotarians in most other states.

ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK: DAVE O'CONNER. Dave graduated from high school in South Dakota and the University of South Dakota with a degree in Business Management. He is West Texas General Manager of Moble Phone of Texas. Dave joined our club in 1989 and he has three children.

Remember to wear RED on Fridays to support our troops. Also, bring a guest and PROPOSE A NEW MEMBER.
