Today, Megan Cheek sang for the club. Joe Alcorta's outstanding summary of each of our meetings appears on our club website. Thanks, Joe.

NEXT WEEK: Leonard Glasgow, with Child Protective Services, will speak to the club. Be sure and WELCOME our newest member, BRANDON SHAHAN, who is with Merrill Lynch. Peggy McConnell has submitted her resignation from the club. She will be joining Abilene Southwest Rotary because Tuesday is a much better day for her to attend Rotary meetings, rather than Fridays. We will certainly miss Peggy, who has and, hopefully, will continue to be active in so many of our Rotary programs.

There will be NO ROTATER NEXT WEEK. David Stubbeman will be attending the Rotary International Convention in Los Angeles next week.

Three of the nine local charities which received grants from our club received their checks today. More checks will be distributed next week. Briarstone Manor is CLOSING on June 15, 2008. We will meet at Brairstone Manor on June 13. We will meet on JUNE 20 AT THE BEEHIVE RESTAURANT, 442 Cedar St., downtown, upstairs. Randy Piersall is chairing a committee which will find a permanent place for us to meet after June 20.

Our Out-going Board Members, our Incoming Board Members, and our Continuing Board Members will have a Joint Board Meeting and Supper on Thursday, June 26, at 6:30 P.M., at Cypress Street Station. Isaac Castro, from Hamlin, our Assistant District Governor, will attend this meeting.

As you know, Dave Mason from the Abilene Southwest club has been our Rotary District Governor this year. His successor is Jerry Parr from the Gainesville Rotary Club. Jerry will be installed on June 28 at a banquet in Gainesville.

We will be taking our students to Rotary Camp RYLA in Denton, Texas, on the morning of June 19. If you can drive a van to Denton, Texas, and return, on June 19, please call David Stubbeman at 698-1756.

Do you know where Briarstone Manor is located? The street sign says "Eplens Court" and Briarstone Manor's letterhead says "Eplen's Court" and the Abilene Reporter News says "Eplen Court" because that is the way it is spelled on the City Hall maps.

MAKE-UPS: Mike Dickie made up at the Breckenridge Rotary Club several times last month; Peter Fox made up at the Killeen and San Saba Rotary Clubs; Tom Boecking, C. G. Gray, and Dennis Bell made up at the Abilene Wednesday Club; and Bob Hunter, Richard Rolison, Marty Pothier, Dick Burton, and Robert Laird made up at Abilene Southwest Rotary.

Air Force and joined our club in May 1986 when he was in Financial Programming. He is married to Judie and they have three grown children. Doug spends the summers (including this summer) at his family lake house in Michigan.
