Our program today was Nancy Robinson Masters, who compared flying to recruiting new members. We had several non-Rotarian women attend our club today. See if you can convince one or all to join our club. Joe Alcorta’s outstanding summary of each of our meetings appears on our club website. Thanks, Joe.

Program for NEXT WEEK: Sampler of Cisco Jr. College’s current musical production.

Turner Cariker and his team will be putting out American Flags on Thursday, June 14, in recognition of FLAG DAY. We currently have over 60 persons who pay to have the flag displayed. MANY THANKS to Turner and his team for doing this great project.

JUNE is ROTARY FELLOWSHIP MONTH. We will have a CLUB PICNIC on June 29 at FRONTIER TEXAS. This is for your entire family. Put this date on your calendar. There will be a "changing of the guard," from Mike Weber to Bob Test, and the naming of the ROTARIAN OF THE YEAR. More details to follow.

Also, on Tuesday, June 19, at 6:30 p.m., we will have a joint meeting of the outgoing BOARD OF DIRECTORS and the incoming BOARD OF DIRECTORS at El Chico Mexican Restaurant in the Mall of Abilene. The Assistant District Governor, Issac Castro from Hamlin, will also attend. Directors, please put this date on your calendars.

Another date to put on your calendar is Saturday, June 30, at 6 p.m. at the Abilene Woman’s Club when Dave Mason from Abilene Southwest Rotary will be installed as our new DISTRICT GOVERNOR.

Be sure and look at the June issue of the ROTARIAN MAGAZINE. There are many wonderful pictures of Rotary working and being of SERVICE around the world.

One of the colorful traditions of many Rotary clubs is the exchange of small banners, flags or pennants. Rotarians traveling to distant locations often take banners from our club to exchange at "make-up" meetings as a token of friendship. When was the last time you looked at the banners from other Rotary clubs which are displayed on the wall at Briarstone Manor?

ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK: WORTH MOUTRAY. Worth has his own insurance agency, Moutray and Associates. He previously was a member of Abilene Southwest Rotary, but his business schedule made it more convenient to join our club.

Remember to wear RED on Fridays to support our troops. Also, PROPOSE A NEW MEMBER.

MAKE-UPS: Bob Hunter, Tom Boecking, Dave Boyll, and Will Dix at Abilene Southwest Rotary, Myra Dean, Turner Cariker, and Ed Brokaw at Abilene Wednesday Rotary.

Club Officers: Mike Weber, President; Bob Test, President Elect; Mary Beth Kilgore, Secretary-Treasurer; Directors: Frank Dlugas, Kim Bosher, Jay Hobbs, Erik Johnson, Bruce Lampert, Randy Piersall; Sergeant at Arms, Marty Pothier; Assistant Sergeant at Arms, Will Dix, and Peter Fox (immediate past president)
