Today, Vance Long, President of the Abilene Geological Society spoke and Nikki Mathur won the Four Way Speech Contest Joe Alcorta's outstanding summary of each of our meetings appears on our club website. Thanks, Joe.

NEXT WEEK: Megan Cheek will present a musical program.

TASTE OF ABILENE!!! April 8. JAY HOBBS and his committee have done a great job getting sponsors and preparing for our MAJOR FUND-RAISER. Each member of our club has received 6 tickets at $30.00 apiece and you are asked either to sell them or use them for family and friends (and for yourself if you are not otherwise helping with this fund-raiser). If you need more tickets, let Julie Hofmann or Jennifer Kent know.

PLEASE SAY "YES" in March when PETER AGNELL calls you to give the invocation or GREG KAISER calls you to introduce guests. REMEMBER, NO club meeting on Good Friday, March 21.

Some young women were at our club today with video cameras in preparation for our club's participation in BUSINESS EXPO at the Civic Center on March 26. If you any ideas or suggestions on how our booth should look, let Bob Test know.

On March 1 and April 5, there will be a large number of DISC GOLFERS at Cal Young Park for a tournament. Come out and see what it is all about and why our club is moving forward toward assisting in the expansion of Cal Young Park for a bigger and better Disc Golf Course.

The Rotary Centers for International Studies in peace and conflict resolution offer individuals committed to peace and cooperation the opportunity to pursue a master's degree in international studies, peace studies, conflict resolution and related areas. One graduate of this program is now regional director of the West African Youth Network in Freetown, Sierra Leone. We will be reporting on other graduates of this program in future issues of the Rotater.

ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK: TOM CENIGLIS. Tom attended Santa Monica, California, High School, Valley State College (Van Nuys, CA) and San Angelo College (now Angelo State University.) He was owner of Tom's Tire World, but (I think) is now retired. Tom joined our club in 1990 and he has served on the Abilene City Courcil. He is married to Reba.

MAKE-UPS: Carolyn Rancier made up on line at Rotary Club E-One; Bob Hunter and Marty Pothier made up at Southwest Rotary; and Bob Hunter, Doug Eichorst, Turner Cariker, Twyla Foreman, and Will Dix made up at Abilene Wednesday Rotary.

You can easily Make-Up a missed meeting on line by going to rotary.org. One way is to then, in the Search Box, type "Rotary E-club Pilot Project-List of Clubs", and pick a club.

Abilene Southwest Rotary has asked us to announce that on Tuesday, March 4, Ed Mattson will speak to their club. He is an author and medical research specialist, and he is Board Chair of Rotary International's Cancer Support Group. And Abilene Wednesday Rotary is meeting at Fairway Oaks Country Club on Wednesdays.
