Our program today was Steve Templeton, son of former Rotarian Ed Templeton. Joe Alcorta’s outstanding summary of each of our meetings appears on our club website. Thanks, Joe. Also, THANKS to all who help make each meeting a success, including the persons who take the money for meals, introduce guests, give the invocation, conduct Dealing for Dollars, put out and take up the song books, obtain the speakers, and otherwise help each week.
Program for Jan. 12: Club Assembly, when we will confer on the program and activities, both past and future of our club.
January is ROTARY AWARENESS MONTH. Are you aware of the RESPONSE that Rotary makes to world disasters? Read this month’s ROTARIAN MAGAZINE to see what Rotary has done all over the world when natural disasters strike. Also, read in this month’s Rotarian Magazine about actress Mia Farrow and how she survived POLIO.
REMEMBER, our club is soliciting GRANT APPLICATIONS from charitable organizations in Abilene. Your Board of Directors will consider grants at its meeting on Jan. 12. If you know of a worthy charity in need of monetary help, ask them to send us a letter at P. O. Box 7108, Abilene, TX 79608.

Now is the time to recommend a high school student (sophomore or junior) to attend RYLA in June. RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Award. It is a great experience for all who attend this conference at Texas Women’s University in Denton.
REMEMBER to start making plans to attend the Rotary District Conference on April 20-22 at the Marriott Solana (Westlake) near the Texas Motor Speedway.
