Today, Bill Minter, Executive Director of the Abilene Preservation League spoke. Joe Alcorta’s outstanding summary of each of our meetings appears on our club website. Thanks, Joe.
NEXT WEEK: Mayor Norm Archibald and City Attorney Wes Santee will speak.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. There was no Rotater for Dec. 21 or Dec. 28. January is ROTARY AWARENESS MONTH.
We received a nice "Thank You" note from Millie Braddy, our pianist, for the gift card the club gave her for Christmas. She contributes a great deal to our meetings.
Those of you who arrived early to our meeting today may have seen the DVD on our ROTARY DISTRICT WHEELCHAIR PROJECT. This outstanding project is being conducted with the Wheelchair Foundation. If you want to contribute, send David Stubbeman a check for $75.00 payable to "RI District 5790."
If you receive a call in January from Myra Dean asking you to introduce guests, or from Mike Dickie asking you to give the invocation, please say "YES."
Our club received $173.25 from the Texas State Comptroller. This was money for dues which had been sent to the club four or five years ago, but it was sent to the wrong address and returned to the sender. Statements for club dues will be sent out next week. Please send your dues to P. O. Box 7108, Abilene, TX 79608 or you can charge your dues on a credit card.
We want to send a SPECIAL BIRTHDAY GREETING to Rotarian JOEL WILSON, who will turn 90 on Jan. 20. Joel had over 50 years Perfect Attendance at our club.
The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International provides an opportunity for Rotarians to work for international understanding and peace. Through your donations to the Birthday Box and Sunshine Moments, you help sponsor international educational and humanitarian programs.
In January, we will be preparing an update for our membership directory, so let David Stubbeman know if you have any changes to include in the update.
ROTARIAN OF THE WEEK: KIMBERLY (KIM) BOSHER. Kim was born in Victoria, Texas. She attended Victoria Stroman High School and Victoria College. She is Marketing/PR Director for Star Dodge Hyundai and joined our club in March 2004. Kim is married to Michael and has a son and two daughters.
